Despite the deluge on Saturday, the tribes trekked out to Memphis Academy of Science and Engineering for a day of enlightenment and building connections at the inaugural TribeCamp. Now as we debrief from the event, we’re putting together resources for attendees and reaching out for your opinions on the day.

Check back to our topics page regularly as we link up presentations with slide decks you can download.

If you’re on LinkedIn, get connected with the TribeCamp event. Add yourself as a speaker or attendee and link it with your profile.

Get involved with our next camp! We’ll be hitting the ground running soon on planning the third annual BarCamp Memphis, happening this November. We need you involved to make this event as successful as possible. Reach out to us or get connected with BarCamp on Facebook and let us know you’re interested in joining the team.

Last but definitely not least, we want to know your thoughts and feedback on TribeCamp. We like to use a format called Start/Stop/Keep. Leave a comment on this post (or send us an e-mail if you’d prefer) and let us know what we should Start doing for the next camp that we didn’t do this time around, what we should Stop doing altogether that didn’t go well, and what we should Keep on the agenda for events to come. We want to make sure we’re continually sharpening and improving, so these comments go a long way in helping every event we plan be better than the one before it. Please, don’t be shy!

The other major benefit of the day is the numerous connections you’ll make with a sphere of professionals. TribeCamp is a unique experience by LaunchMemphis and LunaWeb designed to foster the community of entrepreneurship in Memphis.

We are looking for speakers and presenters for the upcoming TribeCamp Memphis event (happening April 24 at Memphis Academy of Science and Engineering). TribeCamp covers the usual Web 2.0 topics common to the “camp” scene, from application development to Web production to social media and all the stops in between. The big difference between TribeCamp and, say, BarCamp, is that this event will also focus on “tribes,” groups of people with similar interests or talents in the Web sphere and building professional relationships in and outside of those tribes.

If you have knowledge or expertise on a current Web 2.0 topic, we want to hear from you. Presentations last about 30 minutes with 10 to 15 minutes left for informal Q and A. You can PowerPoint if that’s your thing, or doodle on a white board if that’s more your style. The setting is casual and the idea is to share and gain knowledge — and mingle and make connections, of course.

If you’re interested in speaking or presenting, give us a shout as soon as you can. We’ll begin posting the speakers and session topics as soon as we have them so you can begin planning out your TribeCamp experience. If you’re not up for presenting, head here to register as an attendee. TribeCamp is a Launch Memphis event.
